Ingenix Publishes Top 200 Coding Hospitals

October 31st, 2008

Health care information giant, Ingenix, published its fifth annual report, “Top 200 Coding Hospitals in the U.S.” The report ranks hospitals according to the completeness and accuracy of their medical coding practices used to bill Medicare for inpatient medical services.

This year’s report ranks hospitals on how well they adapt to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) updated policies, including Medicare-severity diagnosis-related groups (MS-DRGs) payment methodology, reduced payment for hospital-acquired conditions, and compliance with the Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) program.

The complete report is available on the Ingenix Web site.
