Immediate Care Business: “Fracture Diagnosis Coding Basics”

When documenting a fracture, or selecting an ICD-9-CM code to describe it, you’ll want to consider primarily two criteria: the precise anatomic location of the fracture, and whether the fracture can be classified as “open” or “closed.” This article describes various situations and provides tips on coding for fractures in an urgent care facility.
