CMS to Host Third Education Call on 5010
August 25th, 2009
The mandatory compliance date for Medicare’s Fee-for-Service (FFS) implementation of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) version 5010 is Jan. 1, 2012; however, providers will be able to test the new software and transition to version 5010 as early as Jan. 1, 2011. Are you ready?
The modified standard may require programming and business process changes across your organization. To ensure compliance, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is hosting its “Third National Medicare FFS Education Call on HIPAA Version 5010.” This conference is geared towards billing software programmers and developers for provider organizations, but compliance managers would do well to listen in too.
On Sept. 9, 2-3:30 p.m. EST, listen to a presentation on Medicare FFS error handling transactions (TA1, 999, and 277CA), planned use of each transaction and applicable rules, and exceptions for the Medicare FFS program. After the presentation, you will be given a chance to ask questions.
Register for this important conference before Sept. 8, 2 p.m. Space is limited and is first come, first served—so don’t delay!
