BC Advantage: CPT Changes for 2012

With the 500-plus CPT code changes in 2012 there is always a chance for confusion. AAPC director of education, Raemarie Jimenez, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I, CANP, CRHC takes about such changes in this month’s edition of BC Advantage magazine.
“Some changes are minor revisions to clarify code use and consistency with terminology for code descriptions,” she stated. “There are new combination codes to report the surgical service and radiology supervision and interpretation. The sections of CPT with the most code changes are integumentary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and laboratory and pathology.”
