CMS Extends EHR Eligibility Appeals Deadline

April 12th, 2012

Wish you had more time to qualify for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs’ 2011 payment year? You’re in luck.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced April 3 in a Daily Digest Bulletin that it is extending the deadline for eligible professionals (EPs) to submit eligibility appeals under the Medicare EHR Incentive Programs’ 2011 payment year. The new deadline is April 30, 2012, giving EPs an extra month to file their appeals.

If your practice met all the program’s requirements for 2011, but was unable to successfully attest because of circumstances beyond your control, you still have time to appeal.

Find out how on the CMS website.
