The old saying is that the eyes are the window to the soul, right? How important is it for a medical coder to have an eye on detail? “Coders have an eye for spotting every possible codeable word in provider documentation, and then they seek out correct codes to ensure reimbursement,” wrote AAPC member Wendy Gorrie, CPC, RHIT, CCS in a recent article for Scrubs & Suits.com.

She highlights several features of the anatomy of the eye and how the corresponding codes accompany them.
